diverseimages Focuses on Filling Market Gap

Newly launched diverseimages is eyeing a market niche currently led by Blend Images. Chi Modu, diverseimages founder and CEO, says the supply of culturally diverse photos lags behind demand, and not just for images of African Americans, but also Asians, Latinos and other ethnic groups. The new archive has launched with close to 250,000 images of entertainment, sports and political figures, including Malcolm X, Marvin Gaye and Barack Obama. Also on offer is developing-world imagery from Cambodia, Nigeria, Morocco and other destinations. diverseimages is actively recruiting photographers whose work fits the goals of the collection.
