India-based Dinodia Photo Library has met the New Year with a new Web site and a new image collection.
Established in 1987 in northern village of Dinod, the library began as a personal archive of its founder Jagdish Agarwal. Currently occupying two floors in Mumbai’s business center, Dinodia offers an edited collection of over 4.5 million images dating back to the 1800s. The library represents hundreds of local photographers and roughly 100 international image brands.
The company’s latest collection consists of images shot all over India. Dinodia has drum-scanned roughly 12,000 original slides, captioned and keyworded the collection and is seeking nonexclusive, rights-managed distributors.
