Digimarc for Images Enterprise Edition addresses top customer requests, says the Beaverton, Ore. company known for watermarking content. The newest Digimarc for Images release specifically targets businesses and organizations with large volumes of images by offering batch functions, such as watermarking all images in a given folder.
Other features include a scripted embedder and a software development kit that can be used to customize an organization’s workflow. Digimarc says the software is perfect for media companies, museums, archives and, mainly, stock photo agencies, which need to communicate copyright ownership and track online uses.
Digimarc for Images embeds a digital watermark into images. While invisible to the naked eye, Adobe Photoshop and other software detect the watermark. The mark persists despite manipulation, copying, encrypting, cropping or resizing the orignal image.
Corbis has been a Digimarc customer for over a decade. Others using Digimarc for Images include Sony, Time-Life and Microsoft.
