Several Corbis photographers complain that they've had two and three new editors in the last year. Dan Perlet, director of communications at corbis, says this happened as "a result of natural attrition and staff reductions Corbis had last year." He also pointed out that, unfortunately, similar reductions have been "happening in many parts of the industry as companies seek ways to be more competitive."
Many report that Carl Gronquist is their latest Corbis editor. Gronquist has a team of five that handles intake from photographers who do editorial shoots: travel, landscape, recreation and sports. A larger team handles purely commercial imagery, according to Perlet. Despite last year's changes, the content team is still in the ballpark of 100 people globally.
With editorial switching, keywording can sometimes be a problem. One photographer noted that he has some images from the UK that are keyworded "England." When he does a search for "England," he gets a lot of his New England images. He called this to Corbis' attention and eventually, the problem was fixed.
