A US-based celebrity photo agency is currently looking for a buyer interested in taking over its operations or acquiring its archives. Founded in 2003 by a music photographer, the company has established reputable and strong relationships with publications, artists and publicists.
With just one highly motivated owner who wishes to retire, it is profitable, has no debt and is reasonably priced. A buyer could either manage the company as an independent archive or integrate the archive (1.4 Million images, fully captioned in English) to its own collection.
The company has recently gone through a change of hosting service and not all of the 1.4 million images are online. Currently, there are 2951 galleries online. The galleries are of various sizes based on the nature the event.
There are about 10 to 20 photographers currently contributing, depending on the event coverage calendar. There is one staff contract photographer, some who work on a buy-out model (paid up front, no commission) and some on commission only. The majority of the content is produced by the staff photographer and buy-outs. 40% of the archive is wholly owned.
The company has various representations throughout the world so all the collection is available via subagents who have non-exclusive, contractual relationships that can be terminated by the new owners, if needed.
