Blend Images has announced exclusive representation of the
Built Images stock library. With over 25,000 property-released photographs of contemporary commercial and residential architecture, interior design and home lifestyle, the “Built” collection is one of the most comprehensive and diverse image resources of its kind available for use in advertising and graphic design. This unique collection represents work from more than fifty of the top architectural photographers from the United States and around the world.
"Built Images adds still more depth to our extensive collection of architectural content. Property-released architectural imagery can be difficult to source. So we're excited to be able to offer this world class image library to our clients in a convenient, Royalty Free format," says Blend Images CEO, Rick Leckrone.
In searching for these images be sure to use the keyword “Built.” If the customer uses the keywords build, building, architecture and tries to narrow to search to any location the returns will include a lot of non-Built images with a heavy emphasis on people. With the search term “Built” there are 88 pages (about 4,400) beautiful images. “Built Interior” offers 71 pages, “Built Kitchen” 14 pages and “Built bedroom” 11 pages. However, if the customer doesn’t know enough to use the keyword “Built” with every search, images from the “Built” collection are delivered very randomly.
This points to one of the serious problems with keyword search. Common keywords like building and architecture are used much too frequently and tend to deliver images where people are the focus rather than the building of architecture. If the customer understands that there is a separate keyword like “Built” that will only deliver great architectural images that’s fine. But, how many customers looking for architectural images understand that they should use that word?
In addition, how many image creators who occasionally shoot architectural images will understand that they may need to add “Built” to their keyword list? Something to think about.
