Bigstock, a division of Shutterstock, has introduced a new
partner program that will allow companies like email service providers, website design services and online ad builders to offer Bigstock photos to their customers through their portals.
If a customer of one of these partners selects an image for use in their project, a fee equal to Bigstock’s standard "pay as you go" rates will be charged. Use of the image will be for a specific defined product. If the customer wants to use the same image again in a later product (a second email blast for example) the customer will need to pay a new fee. This is more like an RM license (although at a much lower rate than a typical RM license) than RF.
The partners may charge their customers a higher fee than Bigstock charges if they choose. In the event that a customer pays more than Bigstock’s standard rates Bigstock will still only receive it’s normal fee and the partner may keep the difference. This provides an incentive for partners to encourage their customers to use Bigstock photos, vectors and illustrations.
Contributors will receive the standard 30% commission rate on all sales. Contributors images are automatically included in this program, but if they would like they may opt out of Partner Sales at any time.
