ApplicationGap, founded by former Getty Images’ executive Robert Giroux, has announced an update to Easy Release. First launched in March, version 1.6 of the iPhone app that handles model and property releases features iPad and landscape-mode support.
The app allows collecting important release data and signatures right on the iPhone or iPad and emails a PDF and JPEG of the resulting release. The software uses industry-standard language, and the releases it produces are accepted by leading stock retailers. Alamy executives, for example, have endorsed the product, according to ApplicationGap.
“A professional photographer wants to take great pictures, not hassle models with confusing and time-consuming paperwork”, says Giroux. Easy Release uses a wizard-style interface to guide the user through the release creation process. Other features include a photo of the model or property in the release, saving commonly used information to pre-populate new releases, and supporting 13 different contract languages and 7 UI localizations.
Easy Release is available at the iPhone App Store for $9.99. There are several similar products currently on the market, and some are less expensive. However, ApplicationGap says Easy Release outperforms the competition by offering more customization options, better release integrity and numerous other technical and usability features. The ApplicationGap Web site provides a detailed comparison table to competitors such as mRelease and Photographer’s Contract Maker.
