Alamy has rolled out an online image-upload function, which will allow the U.K.-based agency's contributors to forgo the time-consuming preparation and mailing of CDs. According to the company, the new system is coping well with a large volume of uploads, and the number of CDs received has declined dramatically. Alamy will continue to accept CDs and DVDs from contributors whose systems do not meet the technical specifications of the new system. Image-editing time remains the same at 25 working days; however, Alamy promises to continue looking for ways of reducing the time it takes to process new submissions.
