Age Fotostock has announced the addition of video to its offerings, using its own Technological Hosting Platform’s software and hardware to distribute footage as it has been distributing still images.
Age chief executive officer Alfonso Guriérrez said the company has yet to see video reach great demand in all markets. However, he added: “We anticipate that soon, clients will be demanding it on a daily basis from their image suppliers. We want to be there when video becomes really popular.”
Incorporation of video into the Age platform took some time due to the increased—as compared to images—need for bandwidth and storage to distribute motion content. The company said that the new software platform that supports video makes buying and downloading a snap despite such challenges.
Director of international sales Teresa Alonso also disclosed that Age is planning to offer a centralized subscription model in the near future—as soon as video integration has been successfully rolled out. The video demo will be on view at the CEPIC congress in Dublin.
