Agence France-Presse and Getty Images have extended their longtime still-image partnership with an agreement to distribute each other’s video content. The worldwide deal, which allows both agencies to market content in English, is in place as of this month.
AFP said that Getty’s coverage of film premieres and entertainment festivals—such as the Oscars and Grammies—complements the French news leader’s video offering, which includes current affairs, politics, the environment, lifestyle and fashion. According to AFP, its video offering is among the agency’s strongest performers.
Available in seven languages, AFPTV has 40 production units across the world’s political hotspots and capitals. AFP said the service enjoyed considerable growth in 2008, making it one of the agency’s strongest performers.
