Geneva-based AbsolutVision is discounting pricing by 20% through Jan. 11. AbsolutVision specializes in JPEG2000 stock offered on a subscription basis at an annual cost of just under $50.
JPEG2000 files surpass traditional JPEG formats by advancing a relatively low amount of compression loss, built-in clipping paths, support of 16-bit color and XML-based metadata. Additional end-user editing capabilities include an alpha channel transparency and a “define region” function that allows select areas of an image to be compressed at higher quality than others.
An annual AbsolutVision subscription allows 3,600 downloads per year. One-day passes are available for under $5 and allow users to purchase 10 high-resolution images. In addition, AbsolutVision offers customers a range of Web-based resources: tutorials, free templates, Photoshop brush plug-ins, free photographs and news content.
