A2Z Keywording released new image tagging software, Keyword Perfect 2.0, which was initially developed for in-house keywording.
In addition to the basics, such as ensuring the images are not double-tagged, Keyword Perfect uses a workflow-accelerating autofill process that generates dozens of related tags. For instance, when a photographer tags an image as, “bride at wedding,” Keyword Perfect adds, “wedding, commitment, marriage, romance, love, loving, care, caring…” and other keywords from A2Z’s proprietary dictionary and thesaurus.
Keyword Perfect imports images and displays them in a filmstrip pane. Users keyword each image by selecting from pre-defined tags that represent not only the image’s subject matter, but also the less tangible aspects of photo style, concept or emotion. The software then adds a number of logically associated keywords, eliminating significant input time while ensuring that the images are thoroughly and accurately identifiable.
The software also helps avoid human error with a set of automated checks that guide users through a structured review of their work to catch oversights or inconsistencies. This feature comprises more than 300 individual checks.
According to the Tivoli, NY-based company, the new software helps cast the widest possible sales net for stock houses and image buyers. A2Z will be demonstrating Keyword Perfect and offering trial versions of the software at next week’s PhotoPlus Expo. The company is also offering an introductory discount off list price through the end of the year.
